Fantastic walk down memory lane. I always heard the lyrics as “Remember me? I’m the one who had your babies, I” – the repetition of the ‘I’ stressing that the (presumably errant) man should recognise his responsibilities to the woman who is the subject of the song. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remember_Me_(Blue_Boy_song) suggests the same…
