I think that more people should start a Digital Museum.

I like the term a lot.

And even though I don’t know exactly what one is.

I can imagine what one is.

(And imagining is better than knowing, anyway).

Digital Museum.

A Digital Museum is an online homage to a person or an era or a subject matter.

Where someone has researched, thoroughly understood and sensitively curated content.

Then presented it beautifully.

I don’t mean an online presence for an actual museum.

Like these: https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2020/mar/23/10-of-the-worlds-best-virtual-museum-and-art-gallery-tours.

I mean something far more interesting.

Like, ‘The Digital Museum of Bubble Gum’.

Or, ‘The Digital Museum of Tea Towels’.

Or, ‘The Digital Museum of Crisps’.

Or, ‘The Digital Museum of a Decade of WH Smith Top Shelf Magazines from 1975 to 1985’.

That kind of thing.

Tim.

I heard the term in a podcast by a good guy called Tim Stiefler.

One of Tim’s guests was talking about the fact that there was no Digital Museum of Advertising.

And that he was toying with the idea of starting one.

Anyhow.

I just like the term.

And the idea.

Of a Digital Museum.

An online homage to a person or an era or a subject matter.

Where someone has researched, thoroughly understood and sensitively curated content.

Then presented it beautifully.

I’ll look out for what you do.
