It is never ever, ever only about the channel.
Most times, it is not even about the channel.
Not in isolation anyway.
So if anyone.
Anywhere.
Anytime.
Talks only about the channel they love, advocate, are associated with, are considered expert in, own or are trying to sell to you.
Don’t listen.
Because no channel is your saviour.
No channel is the answer.
No channel is strategy.
It is merely a tactic.
Either appropriate or inappropriate.
And you’ll already know because of your strategy.
If your strategy is any good of course.
It’ll be implicit.
Channels.
I suppose the other thing to mention is that some channels talk about reach.
Or awareness.
Or virality or potential virality of content.
There is a word for all of that if any or all of it is talked about in isolation.
And that word is ‘bollocks’.
Two words actually.
‘Worthless bollocks’
Or three.
‘Vain, worthless bollocks’.

Then write a decent strategy for yourself.
Or get someone to write one for you.
Then identify the tactics you’ll employ to achieve said strategy.
Because if you are just ‘on a channel’.
Outside of a really smart strategy.
There’s a word to describe that.
